Another T-shirt design...

‘Sometimes I bite...’ is my latest entry in the 'Artworks Junkies' T-Shirt contest, this time a design for a girl's t-shirt. Again based on another one of my old sketches. I have included a version of my original sketch as well as my T-shirt design in both pink and white variations... If you like this or my previous ‘Harper Sounds Sweet’ design, you can register with Artworks Junkies and vote on my design entries to be selected to be printed!

While the blog has been extremely quiet, I have been mega busy with work and being creative. Lately I have been busy creating various 3d models for visualisations and environments, as well as some cool Zbrushing. I will hopefully be posting a few of these soon. But in the mean time, I thought I would share a new T-Shirt design I have created based on an old sketch I did of the very talented musician Ben Harper. My T-shirt submission ‘Harper Sounds Sweet’ was accepted to participate in the 'Artworks Junkies' T-Shirt contest, which has lots of great designs done by creative people around the world! I have included my original sketch as well as my T-shirt design and variation design for you to check out!

Just thought I would let everyone know... my site is up!!! Here it is...

As I am still relatively new to web design, feel free to email me any critiques or feedback for my new website after you visit it, particularly about things that you think work or don’t work from a web site perspective, or about my 3d content and other information that I have included on the site. I see my site as being a fluid project that I will refine, add to and enhance over time. For example, does it all appear to function correctly in the browser you are using? Also I decided to embed the “Simpleviewer” flash/javascript gallery within my site to promote samples of my design work; do you think it is effective? Or would a “lightbox” gallery be better?

Also, many thanks to Bob for giving me permission to show renders of a few of the 3d models that I have created for Simmersion Holdings. Here are a couple of pics of the models, to check out more have a look in the gallery of my website.

National Carillon 3D reconstruction portfolio renders

The Carillon is a personal visualisation project of the National Carillon in Canberra, Australia. I have reconstructed the complexities of the bell chamber, clavier instrument and other interior/exterior elements of the unique building. You can check out more renders of the Carillon as well as work-in-progress renders showing how I reconstructed some of the different parts of the model in my website (coming soon)...

Hi all, as you would have gathered from coming here, I have finally decided to present an online portfolio of some of my design work and promote myself as a freelance designer.

I have close to five years of professional experience in the field of 3d visualisation, and environment modelling & texturing for real-time game/visualisation/virtual world engines. However, having knowledge & skills in various fields of 3d design you could also say I am a bit of a 3d generalist.

This includes experience in areas such as: modeling within various polygon budgets, texturing & UVW/normal mapping techniques for both scene renders as well as real-time game/visualisation engines; lighting/render set ups; and character animation morph targets. Apart from regularly using 3ds Max and Photoshop, I also utilise other creative software and platforms when required within my work flow such as: Fusion, After FX, Premiere, as well as SIMmersion’s real-time engine SIMurban.

In addition to 3d design, I also have experience in other areas of creative design such as photo editing/enhancing and promotional design and enjoy expanding my knowledge and skills within these areas.

I am excited to say that I have recently discovered the world of web design and will be uploading and promoting my freelance website “PAULKNIGHT CREATIONS” for the world to see later this month! I will definitely post a link once it’s up, in the meantime, enjoy some samples of my 3d work which I have uploaded here on my blog and on my “Carbonmade” portfolio at knightcreations.carbonmade.com.

During the creation of my site, I have learnt an absolutely massive amount about Dreamweaver, CSS, xhtml and web design in general. That said, I still have lots more to learn, and am excited about the idea of discovering so much more about the amazing world of web design.

After the release of my site later this month, next on the web agenda will be designing a website for a landscaping company, during which I’m looking forward to exploring new and innovative ways of doing things!

In regards to my current working status, I am currently working full-time in the public service, however I am also available for asset creation, commissioned and freelance work, and am always happy to chat about exciting new projects relating to 3d design, web design or other creative areas.
